Let’s keep an eye out for how the cannabis issue plays out as a tax issue, since SCOTUS ruled in 1969 that requiring an illegal drug possessor to apply for and pay for a federal tax stamp forced them to incriminate themselves, violating the 5th Amendment's protection against self-incrimination. Once decriminalized, the dynamic changes, and the fed would need to states to assist with other substance prohibitions, which the states won’t. Kratom is another story line as well.
